C. S. Lewis quote

"Lose your life and you will save it. Submit to death, death of your ambitions and favorite wishes everyday and death of your whole body in the end: submit (to God) with every fiber of your being, and you will find eternal life."

Epic

Oh.  My.  Goodness.  My family and I just watched Epic today for the first time, and let me just tell you: IT WAS AWESOME!!!  It was one of the best movies that I have ever watched!  It compares to a Disney movie, that's how good it was!

My father at first was wary of watching.  He thought that it would be lame and childish (and my father loves animated movies), but boy was he in for a big surprise!  I would recommend this movie for all ages!  From young child, to old aunts and uncles.  Yes.  It was that good.  Believe me.  Epic was... epic!  A movie for all ages!

My two favorite characters are:  MK (Mary Katherine), the main character.  She somehow gets shrunk (by the queen of the leafmen) and is given the major responsibility of protecting a Pod, the next queen.  And then there's Nod, a rebellious ex-leafman, who assists MK and the head leafman, Ronin, try to get the Pod to safety.

The movie had a really good plot and the animation was absolutely stunning!  And we didn't even watch it with the Blue Ray!  One of the themes that was going on in the movie was, "There are many leaves, but one tree.  No one is alone."

This movie was comparable to Rise of the Guardians, which was a very good movie also.  I rate Epic 9 out of 10.  A great family movie!

  1. I liked this movie a lot too, but I thought the storyline could be better. You know? It just seemed overly simple for such a well-thought-out world. It needed some twists and surprises. The ending left me feeling like, "Wait...that's it? That's all it took?"

    1. It was a very good movie, and I thought that the plot was very interesting. It could have been a little more in depth, I do agree, but I don't think it took away from the movie. Think of the age audience that it's motioned towards. I mean, yeah, us homeschooler teenagers watch these kind of movies all the time and love them! It would've been cool if it was more in-depth for us teen homeschoolers.

I do agree with you about the ending. I wish that they had shown us more about the characters' lives afterwards. But all in all, it was one of the best movies that I've ever seen!
